Just above Maranza, the local mountain Gitsch offers ski slopes with snow guarantee, located between 1,300 and 2,500 meters of altitude. The slopes are suitable for all demands – from beginners to experts. When you ski on Mount Gitschberg, a unique panoramic view will surprise you. From the 360° panoramic platform on the summit, you may admire 500 snow-capped peaks and the Dolomites while enjoying culinary specialties and traditional delicacies in rustic mountain hats. The longest downhill slope in the area Gitschberg-Val Giovo is 6 km long – with an altitude difference of 1,118 meters – and takes from Mount Gitschberg to Maranza. The most challenging slope is called Mitterling. Although it is only 1 km long, it has a slope of 38 degrees!
Many offersfor skiing holidays with children
We also recommend the medium slope Nesselbahn. And while the parents put their skills to the test on the slopes, the children have fun at the Bambino Club Valles. The Kids’ Park offers professional child care – unless your children prefer to take ski or snowboard lessons at the ski school. During your ski holiday in Maranza every day you will enjoy many new adventures and experiences.
Sledding in Meransen
For our sledding friends there is a new prolonged natural sledding track on the Gitschberg in Meransen that extends from the mountain station of the lift to the valley station – for even more winter fun!
Furthermore there is the artificial ice sledding track in our tennis hall (suitable for both beginners and professionals), which is even used by our national sledding team for training purposes. You certainly won’t be bored when looking for the ultimative sledding experience.
